12/1/2022 POSITION SUMMARY Major job functions include planning, implementing, managing and evaluating activities and services assigned to the Recreation Programs Division; including, but not limited to the following activities; program development and implementation, supervising instructors and part-time staff, implementing program marketing, preparing and managing program budgets, planning and developing program goals and objectives, coordinating and reporting program data, and performing additional tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification.

Plans, organizes, and implements outdoor and general recreational programs for children, teen and adult activities; develops, plans and organizes special and holiday events, instructional programs; manages recreation programs and evaluates services; plans and directs outdoor recreation programs but not limited too; works directly with individuals participating in programs.
Includes soliciting sponsorship funds for particular events; prepares materials relating to programs and special events.
Develops, supervises and promotes diverse recreational programs, activities and events for all ages and abilities.
Administers day camps; supervises, reviews, monitors, analyses and evaluates camps and their activities.
Supervises, schedules and evaluates instructors, part-time and seasonal assigned staff.
May also supervise and evaluate interns and volunteers.
Recruits, recommends for hire, and trains part-time staff; handles employee concerns, directs work assignments, counsels and disciplines employees when necessary, and completes employee performance appraisals.
Enforces Agency/Government rules, regulations and ordinances; keeps part-time staff informed of appropriate Agency/Government changes in policies and procedures.
Coordinates with other staff the planning, organizing, and implementing of shared programs and facilities.
Performs necessary preparation of recreational areas and ensures availability of needed equipment and supplies.
Page 1 of 4 Possesses a number of technical skills and knowledge in a wide range of recreation, health and wellness activities for all ages.
Performs special projects and duties assigned by Recreation Division Director or Agency Director.
Performs other related duties as required.

Associate's Degree and/or vocational training and/or minimum 2 years' experience in a related field.

Must successfully pass a criminal background screening and drug test.

Requires the ability to utilize mathematical formulas; add and subtract totals; multiply and divide; determine and utilize percentages; interpret graphs; perform statistical calculations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR/First Aid/AED CPRP Preferred Possession of a valid Georgia Driver's License (class C) and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle record (MVR) Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement Preferred or ability to obtain in three (12) months.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of the Cherokee County Government and the operations and functions of CRPA.
Knowledge of supervisory, educational, and recreational practices; knowledge of personnel management, finances, camp operations, and policies and procedures as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities.
Knowledge of all applicable laws, ordinances, policies, standards, and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the job.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of recreational administration, agency rules and regulations, community resources, supervisory practices and accounting practices.
Knowledge and skill in the use of office equipment, various software programs, and desktop publishing.
Knowledge of recent developments, current literature and sources of information related to recreation services planning and administration.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the daily operation of the recreation centers Ability to effectively communicate and interact with management, employees, members of the general public and all other groups involved in the activities of Cherokee County government as they relate to CRPA.
Ability to plan and coordinate events involving large groups of people, public relations, and oral and written communication.
Ability to assemble information and make written reports, documents, policies, proposals, and procedures in a concise, clear, and effective manner.
Ability to work and supervise staff under limited supervision Physical Demands:

Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials.
Must be able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently.
Physical demand requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
